Purpose of the Program

The overall purpose of the Student Advisory and Connection Time Program is to create a home base where students feel safe, supported, and understood by their advisors and each other. Each advisee will have an advisor who will support and monitor his/her overall experience and progress in school.

Middle School Advisory Program

Advisories give students a time and place where their non-academic needs can be addressed and supportive relationships can be developed. Teachers will facilitate discussions on relevant themes and provide students with a safe, non-judgmental environment. They will help students to discuss and possibly solve immediate concerns or problems, and help students in setting and reviewing goals. The Middle School Advisory encompasses four broad themes. Each quarter will focus on one theme and is arranged to mimic the development of a student throughout the school year.

High School Connection TIme

The purpose of High School Connection Time is to establish a period of time for teachers and students to develop connections that positively impact students. Teachers will facilitate discussions on relevant themes and provide students with a safe, non-judgmental environment. They will help students to discuss and possibly solve immediate concerns or problems, and help students in setting and reviewing goals. High School Connection Time encompasses four broad themes. Each quarter will focus on one theme.
